A TECHNOLOGY REVOLUTION

■ The medisun® XENIA UVA-1-bed uses a completely new and patented casing concept.

■ The lamp module can be easily turned back manually in spite of its size.

■ The patient is lying in a system that is open virtually at all times even during exposure, preventing feelings of claustrophobia.

■ The lamp module can be opened by the patient at any time. Electrical drives are not needed. This reduces maintenance costs.

■ The 72 special lamps produce barely any heat, but mostly UV and visible light. There¬fore, the expensive exhaust systems that are needed for conventional UVA-1-beds are not required here.

■ Another benefit is the option of partial expo¬sure with 6 individually dosable partial fields.

 ■ After exposure, the lamps can be started again immedia-tely without any need to cool off first.

■ The patient is lying on a comfortable synthetic leather mattress that can be used hygienically with disposable covers.

•    To get in, the lamp module is just turned back. The patient can sit comfortably on the lying surface first.

•    Once the patient is lying on the lying surface, the lamp module is turned forward again.

•    After the lamp shade has been closed, treatment is started on the computer and the exposure time counts down.

•    After the desired dosage is reached, the UV lamps switch off automatically. The patient turns to the other side and the second part of the treatment can start without delay.

•    At the end of the second part, the system will switch off auto¬matically, and the patient can leave the bed.

SIMPLE AND SAFE OPERATION

The medisun®-computer control permits precise dosage in J/cm². The 6 single fields can be set to different strengths. The system can also be connected to the medisoft therapy management system with a network cable, and controlled and managed by remote PC, e.g. from the reception desk. The medical employees can use pre-set therapy plans and a comprehensive docu¬mentation in the patient database for this.

Safety and operating comfort leave nothing to be desired. The integrated patient history permits comprehensive insight into the current and all completed treatments. A comfor¬table protocol function permits printout of therapy protocols.

OPTIMISED THERAPY RANGE

The combination of UV xenon lamps and high-quality edge filters achieves a selective light spectrum between 340 nm and 460 nm, which ensures outstanding treatment success. The typical exposure times are between 10 and 30 minutes.
